LAMARCA

Well the mystery is over. In fact, one of the great mysteries of the eighties and nineties pop/rock scene can now be revealed... and that mystery was? Who or what was LaMarca? You see, this name kept popping up in certain music circles in L.A. and on some great movie soundtracks and then a certain movie called The Wraith appeared on our radar. It was a bit of a silly movie really, starring Charlie Sheen. However the movie is not really the center of attention but the soundtrack definitely is. On it is a track called 'Hold On Blue Eyes' performed by LaMarca. It's the love ballad on the soundtrack, and to this day many have inquired as to who or what LaMarca was. Well, LaMarca is in fact the name behind Cleveland vocal legend Abe LaMarca. Abe has a history steeped in funk, soul and blues, but his powerful and soaring voice allows him to cover any style flawlessly. Abe currently is living and performing in Las Vegas where he is a part of a stable of elite singers and musicians referred to as the "Crown Jewel" of Vegas, Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns. He has worked at many of the strip hotels with some top Las Vegas performers including America's Got Talent winner, Michael Grimm. He is able to shape his current LaMarca band to fit any situation from an eight piece with horns to a small trio consistently with one common theme... great vocals and a good groove.
